Best Western Plus Sunset Plaza Hotel

We always stay here when visiting our son in West Hollywood. Hotel is undergoing renovations, which were needed and have turned out very nice. Love the underground parking area and especially the EV charge in stations since my rental car was EV. That was a nice bonus to have it Charge overnight.

This was my fourth stay at Best Western Plus Sunset Plaza Hotel, and it just keeps getting better. The hotel was recently remodeled, and the transformation is beautiful. The rooms feel modern, fresh, and incredibly clean, with a cozy boutique vibe that you wouldn’t normally associate with a Best Western. In fact, when you think of “Best Western,” this is definitely not what comes to mind — it feels more like a charming, stylish boutique hotel tucked right into the heart of West Hollywood. I stayed on the third floor with easy access to the backyard pool area, and it was such a relaxing setup. The little patio and pool space are absolutely beautiful — peaceful, well-kept, and perfect for unwinding. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed, making the whole stay feel warm and inviting. They also offer breakfast, which is such a great bonus, and the manager is truly amazing — welcoming, attentive, and genuinely caring about guests’ experiences. Even though there are much fancier hotels nearby, I would choose this one again in a heartbeat. It feels personal, cozy, and special. I’ll absolutely be coming back over and over again.

Great location. We slept thru the free breakfast. That's how comfortable the mattresses were. Would definitely go back. Customer service at front desk was exceptional. Thank you.

What a secret gem in Los Angeles. Prime location. Modern, updated and beautiful inside with a special connection to the original California architecture and style that is so rare in the glass and steel "box hotels" of today. Outside harkens to the original Spanish Colonial style that defines the beginnings of Hollywood and what is so unique about Los Angeles. Gorgeous courtyard design with rooms encircling a beautiful pool and lovely landscaping. Convenient and easy parking (very rare in this area) with a charming lobby fronting Sunset Blvd. Easy walking distance to Whiskey a Go Go or what have you. Breakfast includes many protein options and gorgeous pastries and croissants. Sublime hospitality from the management and staff. Sadly, sharing my secret will make it harder for me to get a room. But they deserve it.

Carlos at the front desk completely made my experience. He has worked at the hotel for 18 years and he certainly knows what the customers want/need! Location is 10/10. I had a standard king room and it was huge. Bathroom was nicely renovated. Buffet breakfast was delightful and varied. Will definitely stay again.

Overall positive experience. Excellent location for short commutes to the Hollywood and Beverly Hills landmarks. The facility - particularly the pool area - has a charming, vintage LA vibe. Desk and housekeeping requests were prompt. The price is on the cheaper side for the area. The complimentary breakfast was adequate. My biggest issue was room smell. We were in a first floor, pool-facing room in the west wing (perhaps it varies by location) and the odor was pretty intense. I adapted to it pretty quickly (and it was nice to have the windows open) and it wasn't that big of a deal but if you're extremely sensitive to smell, proceed carefully.

The staff all take their job seriously and accomodated all my requests. I arrived late at night and my driver let me in from the back street parking floor, through a door and into the elevator to check in (There are a few stairs in the street front enterance). They safely kept mail for me a month prior to my stay. The room is very cosy and clean and so is the outdoor pool area. Dining room area is small but charming. I was happy to find a metro station just in front which proved effiecient through my stay and to go back to the airport. I stayed on a Sunday and Labor Day the following day, so the area was very peaceful.

The Best Western Plus Sunset Plaza is a really great holiday hotel for a family to base themselves at if they want big rooms, excellent amenities and a central location that allows for relatively easy access to Hollywood, Universal Studios theme park, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica and Downtown LA. The hotel is currenly undergoing refurbishment and the room upgrades deliver an accommodation solution well beyond the price you pay for the room. The Spa Suite room my family and I stayed in was excellent. It had a separate lounge & kitchenette area, with a fold-out couch, allowing four adults a high level of comfort. A big call-out for the separate shower. Rainfall spray head and great water pressure!
